We are happy to move together with you at the 30th edition of the BeJam. We will meet again at PROGR , centre for culture production, in the heart of Bern. Same time, same place: We dance four days on Pentecost. The jam will be accompanied by interventions, suggestions and retrospectives on the 30th anniversary of the BeJam.

The dance takes place in a big and two smaller studios. The big space is generally available for jamming, labs with specific topics and score dance-time will take place in the small studios.Our focus is on self-responsibility, attentiveness and pleasure full dancing - that remains the same as the years before.

Labs...
Labs are 2-hour time slots in which a group researches a topic together. They are moderated at the jam by the group itself.
Examples of topics : River and liquid; Handicap; Jump & Catch; ... If you have wishes or a suggestion for a lab, describe your idea short and clear on the registration form.

Sleep and presence...
There is a number of overnight stay-possibilities in the studios available - but we are in the city center and it might not be very quiet at night... Please bring your sleeping bag and a mat if you would like to sleep in the PROGR. The experience from last years: it can get noisy at night - we are in the middle of the city. Whoever prefers to sleep in a tent or under the free sky can place a reservation at the campsite Eichholz. Moreover, there is the Youthhostel Berne in about 10 minutes walking distance (see also links at the very bottom of the page).

Between dancing and meal and dancing again, the river Aare presents itself for strolling, chill out and a fresh bath. Always go with an experienced swimmer and not alone. The Aare is attainable in 5 minutes by foot.

Food: We provide meals and snacks with many fruits and vegetables. Vegan and gluten-free options are always available.

The jam fee is 200 Euro for dancers living outside of switzerland and CHF 250.- for swiss movers (residence). Included in the jam fee are meals, snacks inbetween the dances and overnight stay at the studios. Like the years before, it's our wish that participants register for the whole jam. As a work study, there is a possibility to participate at the jam at a reduced fee (see below). Furthermore, we have five more places at a reduced jam fee. Contact us if you can't come to the Jam without support.

To ease the registration upon arrival, we ask you to wire the full jam fee right after your online registration. In case you are not able to participate, we will reimburse your payment minus €40 back to you. Cancelation the week before the jam will result in a 50% payback. Short term registrants to the jam who pay cash upon registration pay €230 / SFr280.-

We are very happy if the jam is enriched by the presence of children of every age. Inside and around the PROGR there is space. The river Aare with its walking pathes is in 5 minutes walking distance. We understand that the parents perceive responsibility for their own children anytime. Especially outside the PROGR campus children should be accompaigned by an adult. Children are welcome in the dance space as long they can adapt to the atmosphere and respect the present moments of the dancing.
As well, have a look at the playgrounds Spielplatz Längmuur , 10 minutes from PROGR or Spielplatz am Schützenweg (20..30 minutes by foot) - those two robinson playgrounds definitivly a great for an adventure excursion (and will include a laundry session afterwards :-)

Together we will take care of the everyday tasks like sweeping the studios, help in the kitchen, preparing the meals. Come prepared to help one to two hours during the four days jamming by working in the kitchen, walk with a saucepan up the stairs and/or sweep the studios :)

As every year, we will be happy to have additional helping hands during the jam. We can offer a limited amount of work-study places. Work-studies can participate at the jam for half of the jam fee in exchange of 6 hours of work during the jam. If you would like to participate but can not afford the jam fee please apply for a work-study place on the online application form.

Your registration is only valid after your payment and the confirmation by the jam team. We may deny your participation due to too many registrations or for other reasons.

The PROGR is situated in a 5 minutes walking distance from the main train station in Bern. Have a look at this map for directions. If you ask someone for directions mention simply "PROGR or restaurant Turnhalle", almost all bernese people will be able to expel the way.

Important: No parking places are available on the terrain. Parking in the city centre is only possible for quite expensive fees. We recommend to travel by public transportation. A park-possibility exists in 10 minutes walking distance and costs 10 Euro per day. Whoever is interested in this option please note it on the registration form.
